38 000 Villages

Jan 2018. in Batticaloa and Trincomalee

In Sri Lanka, there are about 38, 000 villages among its 25 districts. Of the 18, 000 villages there are no churches or religious practices. Each village has an approximate number of 50 to 200 families. Due to the civil war, many of these families have missing fathers and/or parents that lead children and youth down life-threatening paths. As a country that deals with drug trade there are reoccurring problems that children and youth go through in these poor villages such as, dropping out of school at young ages (10 to 12), drug abuse, alcoholism, wrong relationships that lead to heavy loss and depression, and suicidal patterns.

Our goal is to train young men and women who an equip themselves with the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill the purpose God has for this nation; an opportunity to reach those who need the salvation of Jesus Christ. Through the implementation of our Blessing Hand Mission Vocational Training Center, we hope to provide training to educate, prepare, mentor and foster an experience that will empower students’ leadership skills. We aim to train youth and young adults between the ages 18 to 30, to work cooperatively with existing churches. They will be trained with education and tutorial assistance that will help them obtain the credibility and skills to deal with counselling, general guidance, child and youth care issues, and general guidance in family positive progress. The process entails training 100 youths/students over a period of 6 months, until we have reached and planted churches in the 18, 000 villages that need Jesus.

Every month, around 1000 local leaders from the various districts will be trained to bring an impact on the entire nation.
